With flaps slightly lowered for takeoff, and at speed, Grumman Goose N329 c/n B-119 departs Avalon Bay, Catalina Island . Note the Casino, and Chimes Tower, in the background. Also note: the aircraft has barely cleared the water, and the wing tip floats have already retracted. This well known photo, may be considered to be the "Icon Photo" that best captures the 1960's Hacylon Decade of Grumman Goose travel to and from Catalina Island. Circa late 1960's.
